Casual Games Revive Employees - With Two Feet and a Frog!
FootGamers in the workplace are celebrating the new office policy on casual games. When there is a FootPOWR peripheral driving the gameplay, instead of the conventional mouse - everyone's happy.
The health benefits will multiply when Zuma's Revenge (PopCap) is released later this month.
We've found that the majority of our workplace FootGamers are hooked on either Bewjeweled or Zuma. Many people find this sort of casual game a great way to unwind after a hard day spent at the office or to reduce stress and relax during leisure time. With FootGaming and all the stress, productivity and health benefits there's virtually no place these casual games aren't given a warm welcome. (Some great research)
Partly responsible for this “epidemic” is PopCap Games, which launched titles like Bejeweled, Peggle or the more recent Plants vs. Zombies, which have severely impacted productivity in a lot of offices where a computer had such titles installed. Another great title from the company was Zuma, which paved the way for the domination of all other casual games developed by PopCap.
Now, in a move that will definitely make a lot of FootGaming “soccer moms” and active FootGaming office workers happy, the company has announced that it will release the first sequel of the game, called Zuma's Revenge!, which will hit the PC and Macintosh platforms on September 15.
“The original Zuma has millions of fans around the world,” said Jason Kapalka, co-founder and Creative Director at PopCap, “so there was a lot of pressure when doing the sequel to really deliver something they'd love, without wrecking the classic Zuma gameplay. Zuma's Revenge! adds a ton of variety to the mix, with over 60 new maps, all new power-up balls like the Laser Frog and Lightning Color Nuke, and a half dozen custom 'boss battles' against giant, evil tiki spirits. Plus we've added several new modes, including a speedy 'blitz'-style challenge game and the fearsome Iron Frog gauntlet for the most elite players.”
In Zuma the player takes the role of a fearless ball-shooting frog, exploring ancient temples and ruins. By firing colored spheres into an advancing chain of balls to make matches of three or more, the frog blasts his way through a series of arcade challenges.
In Zuma's Revenge our favorite, fearless frog has washed ashore on a mysterious island ruled by evil tiki bosses! The puzzle-action of Zuma has evolved in amazing ways - with new gameplay, new powers, new challenges, and astonishing graphics and effects.
From the Zuma's Revenge page on PopCap.com, "It's up to you to guide your agile amphibian to victory... so get ready to take on the tikis!n," We FootGamers are an agile bunch. Zuma's Revenge played with a classy FootPOWR peripheral could re-invent your game play - "Play with your feet!"
