Word and reading fun - learn with your feet!
Spelling worksheets and reading assignments rarely get kids laughing and energetically clamoring for more - but we've seen it in action. At McCall Elementary in Oregon, 4th graders who are usually challenged by reading and spelling elect to practice before and after they do their conventional assignments at the desk. Take a look at them in action with a word-building game called Bookworm Adventure (PopCap).

Not only is the game compelling and fun, but these students get to use the FootPOWR peripheral instead of a mouse so they can move, balance, and deliver oxygen to the brain as they play. Teacher Heather Renz is convinced. After four years of adding ExerLearning strategies to her curriculum (and winning state and national teaching awards from Microsoft, Disney and others) she knows that children need to be physically active in order to have the greatest academic success. The video tells the story - in part. Contact us for more research, more Exerlearning and FootGaming in action. We have stories of older Footgamers, workplace Footgamers and families FootGaming for fun and fitness. |
