Can I use any dance mat as a FootPOWR peripheral?
The FootPOWR peripheral
starts as a top quality dance-platform made by Cobalt
Flux. It That's where the similarity to a regular
dance mat ENDS!!
The FootPOWR is not a console dance game pad. A regular dance game platform would not work as a mouse when plugged into a computer. Those mats are lacking the microcontroller and custom switches/wiring that Cobalt Flux has manufactured for us.
The patented FootPOWR technology is what
allows the FootPOWR peripheral to play any mouse or keyboard
game seamlessly - not just "arrow games."
The FootPOWR pad is not limited to allowing you to play games that are "arrow-driven" like Dance Dance Revolution (DDR - Konami). For a list of computer dance games you can play with FootPOWR explore here. The FootPOWR can do anything a mouse or select keyboard input can do in games and software. You simply stand and move your feet to move the cursor or input commands.
The MAGIC of FootPOWR Technology
The moment you plug your FootPOWR in to the computer's USB port it is immediately ready tto play hundreds of games you probably already love. It is also ready to log every one of your game-steps as distance and calories used. FootPOWR TECHNOLOGY is a patented micro-controller and system that allows the FootPOWR to be reliable, versatile and lots of fun.
Judy Shasek, MS., spent nearly two decades teaching before developing the ExerLearning® and FootGaming™. She has pioneered interactive and ground-breaking fitness trainings since the early days of “aerobics.” Her mission has been to tie physical activity to the K-12 learning environment while harnessing the expertise and energy of the most challenged students to lead and manage the programs. Designing a synthesis of education and fitness that dramatically impacts youth fitness and academic success, she produced the popular, innovative program: Generation FIT ®. Brain research and technology caught up with that mission over the past three years. Shasek developed the patented FootPOWR peripheral in partnership with the brilliant Kevin Colburn of 3D Innovations. Shasek and Colburn’s goal is to provide “exergame” benefits to thousands of existing computer games, casual games, virtual worlds and educational software.
